Officially a Carbon Neutral Green Partner!

Gunnebo Group have a clear sustainability mission – to create a safer world – for its customers, business partners, employees and society as a whole. As part of that mission, our Australian team have partnered with Carbon Neutral to become a Green Partner through their plant-a-tree program.

Who are Carbon Neutral?

Carbon Neutral are profit-for-purpose organisation, who have been working for over two decades with customers from around the globe to reduce their impact on the planet. They are one of the longest standing providers within this space in Australia, having plated 30 million trees thus far – and counting! Offering a suite of carbon reduction products and services servicing the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor project in Western Australia, Carbon Neutral’s Plant-a-tree program was the ideal choice to restore native biodiversity, rejuvenate degraded landscapes and grow critical habitats for endangered wildlife.

The Plant-a-tree Program

The Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor project has been embarked on to rejuvenate a once vibrant Salmon and York gum woodland from being unsuitable for traditional agriculture, to being linked through small patches of remaining vegetation and twelve nature reserves to create a green corridor from the coast of Western Australia to the rangelands. This project has already had impressive results, planting over 30,00,000 trees, plants and shrubs and have restored 16,000 hectares of cleared land. This program has created wildlife habitats, identifying over 450 species of flora, insects and birds in just a two week window. Additionally, the program is also delivering on global sustainability goals, contributing to seven of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Global Goals.

Our Impact as a Green Partner

By Gunnebo Australia becoming a Green Partner with Carbon Neutral and joining the Plant-a-tree program, we have contributed 700 trees to the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor project! This includes an array of native trees and shrubs that have been carefully selected to be adaptable to the region’s re vegetation goal, which is encouraging the reintroduction of endangered species and combats desertification in this Global Biodiversity Hotspot.

Our 700 trees represent invoices raised thus far in 2024. Our commitment to sustainability is top of mind now, more than ever before. Gunnebo Australia will continue to plant trees based on invoices raised to positively impact the environment and build a sustainable future in Australia. We are thrilled to have become a green partner with Carbon Neutral!
