SoloTek

SoloTek is a single-person detection system which can be used to strengthen access control and ensure that only one person tries to pass through a door, airlock or corridor at a time.

SoloTek

Detecting pass-throughs for effective control over sensitive areas

In all banking and high-risk sectors, such as nuclear sites, airports, refineries and cash centres, securing entry points does not only involve authorising access or identifying people.

For the sensitive zones of these buildings, the access control systems need to be bolstered in order to count the number of people passing between non-secure areas and secure areas.

SoloTek is a passage-detection solution ideally suited to managing people’s access to sensitive or strategic areas.

Solotek Detecting Pass Throughs New3

Main Features

The SoloTek detection system is designed with a set of advanced infrared sensors, seamlessly integrated into an anodised aluminium section that can be surface-mounted directly onto door frames or brickwork. These sensors are concealed behind black polycarbonate, making them virtually invisible while maintaining their precision and reliability.

For internal installations, SoloTek benefits from enhanced protection against vandalism and is sheltered from environmental factors, ensuring long-term durability. Utilising high-precision telemetry sensor technology, the system enables seamless pass-through detection while minimizing false alarms, allowing individuals to move freely without unnecessary constraints.

SoloTek is versatile and adaptable to various configurations, whether installed on inward or outward-opening doors, single or double-leaf doors, sliding doors, or even within corridor-based installations. It is fully compatible with a wide range of access control and intrusion detection systems and is preconfigured for seamless integration with the SecurWaveยฎ system. Additionally, its built-in counting function enhances global security management by tracking passage data in real-time.

Operation

In single-passage mode, the SoloTek detection system utilizes a set of infrared sensors to measure a user’s profile at three different heights, ensuring accurate detection. The system requires a door contact (provided if necessary) to determine whether the door is open or closed. Once access is granted through the access control system, SoloTek activates and begins real-time analysis of sensor data.

If a single user passes through correctly, the system registers the passage and logs the event. However, if multiple users attempt to pass simultaneously, SoloTek triggers a responseโ€”this can include activating a CCTV system, sounding an alarm, or locking a secondary door. In such cases, users are instructed to exit and re-enter one at a time.

User feedback is provided through LED indicators or an audio signal, which can be a buzzer or a pre-recorded voice message. Additionally, a time-stamped log of the last 100 pass-throughs is stored on an integrated SD card for security tracking.

Beyond standard entry control, SoloTek detects unauthorized access attempts, including tailgating and piggybacking, enhancing security in high-risk areas. When deployed in airlock configurations, the system ensures only one person is inside before unlocking the second door, effectively preventing unauthorized access.
