Cedar Gate – PAS68 security gate (Newey Barrier)
The Cedar Gate is a PAS68 impact tested security gate originally designed and developed around the Newey barrier and MDA barrier, and as a consequence, the Cedar Gate is now available up to 6 metres in width, therefore making it a versatile yet simple method of achieving a high level of vehicle access protection.
The Cedar Gate provides a cost effective means of securing an entry or exit vehicle point yet still retaining a high level of protection against an agressive hostile vehicle attack.
It is a manually operated lifting gate which is counterbalanced by weights to enable ease of lifting. An ideal for low volumes of traffic flow or where the access point is used infrequently.

The gate has been physically impact tested independently a number of times, in accordance with PAS 68 using 7500kg N2 class vehicle travelling at 48kph (30mph) by the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) and MIRA Ltd.
The Cedar Gate has achieved PAS 68 Classifications:
V/7500(N2)/48/90:0.3/0.0 – 6m model
V/7500(N2)/48/90:0/0 – 4.5m model
Impact tests have included 3 metre, 4.5 metre & 6 metre clear width opening models of the gate providing a physical protection to sites from hostile attack.
Its simple yet effective design makes it easy for local contractors to install and is ideal for protecting infrastructure in remote locations or where power is not available.
The arm sits 900mm above the roadway and is supported by 2 side support frames. The gate is counterweighted for ease of operation and can be fitted with a magnetic locking mechanism (option) to secure the barrier in the lowered/closed position.
